Another reason to keep good contract files: The other side might change it after signature

In case you needed a reason to keep copies of all your signed contracts, here’s one: The plaintiff in a trade-secret lawsuit apparently altered a contract that it had with a third party and then lied about it in court; this came to light only after the plaintiff had won a $25 million jury verdict. The plaintiff’s lawyers, at the Akin Gump law firm, quickly filed a motion to withdraw from representing the plaintiff.
