  • Aggregating Facebook data, even with users’ permission, is copyright infringement and TOS violation | TechLaw
Fortuitously, I remembered reading about this last night, when a friend called to ask a question about a Web site he's building. According to the TechLaw summary: "Lacking official permission to access Facebook's Web site, Power.com turned to Facebook users, obtaining from them their username and password for the limited prupose of gaining access to their profile data. … Facebook sued for violations of the CAN-SPAM Act, the Copyright Act, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act and related state claims."
