The Hints from Heloise column today carries a letter from a woman who had her purse stolen, but it wasn’t a big loss, because she hardly carried anything valuable in the purse.
The writer says she carries a small wallet with a couple of credit cards, plus keys — but in her pockets, not in her purse.
(I met "Heloise" a few years ago on an airplane. When I sat down, I said she looked familiar; she explained who she was. She’s the daughter of the original author of the column. We traded stories about growing up as military brats. A very nice lady.)
